How to Combat the Excess Oil on Your Face

The downsides of oily skin are so many. It makes your face look dull and dark. The oils are produced by glands called sebaceous glands. Men have skin texture and type which is little different than women.


Generally, the young boys and men often experience oily skin. Though the oils are secreted to lubricate the skin so that lines and wrinkles do not come up fast, the lot of oils on your face can make your skin look tired, dark and dull.




Not only this, the occurrence of excess oil on the face can also result in acne breakouts, blemishes and patchy skin. So, men should also take care of their skin.  


Cleanse your face

Cleansing your face is extremely important. Throughout the day, skin goes through a lot like sun exposure, wind, dirt, pollution etc., it is important the skin is cleansed properly at the end of the day.


For oily skin, get a gentle cleanser and wash your face twice to thrice a day.


Exfoliate your face

Exfoliation is a major part of keeping your skin fresh and young-looking. Scrubbing your face will work wonders to get rid of oils and dirt off the face.


Also, using an exfoliator will open up the clogged pores which will reduce the occurrence of pimples. However, it is recommended that you exfoliate twice a week as overuse can stripe away the natural oils thus leading to dry skin.



For all those who think that oily skin doesn’t need a moisturiser need to think twice. Whether your skin is oily or dry, the skin can suffer from dehydration due to diet and lifestyle.


So, it is important to moisturise your skin as it will protect your face against the environment. So, get a light-weight, oil-free skin moisturising lotion that has been particularly formulated for oily skin.


Sun protection

Oily skin is prone to wrinkles, especially when overexposed to sun’s UV rays. So, it is important that wear sun protection before stepping out of the house.


The sun’s harmful rays can result in sagging your skin, developing sun spots and uneven pigmentation. So, it is important to get sunscreen with SPF 20 or above.


Integrating the above mentioned tips in your skincare routine will help you get rid of excess oil.
